Cunard Line offered a series of lively Jazz themed Cruises on the elegant flagship Queen Mary 2. These exciting Transatlantic Crossings offered guests an incredible “best of jazz” experience as well as many other impressive entertainment options on the world’s greatest ocean liner. Guests had the memorable opportunity to enjoy the world-famous talents of legendary artists on two Cunard Blue Note “Jazz at Sea” Transatlantic cruises.
These special sailings included Grammy® Award-winning Herbie Hancock on the August 1, 2016 departure. Jazz-lovers were in nirvana listening to the legendary musician and composer during three shows at the elegant Royal Court Theatre.
Accompanying the legend on this westbound Transatlantic Cruise were band members Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, bassist James Genus and guitarist Lionel Loueke. A dream come true for jazz enthusiasts.
Grammy Award-winner Gregory Porter also delighted guests on another Queen Mary 2 “Jazz at Sea” Transatlantic Crossing sailing on October 25, 2016. Co-headlining with him was triple Grammy Award winning, global jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater, who performed at three shows and hosted a unique Q&A session.
